What is Lead Scoring?
Lead scoring helps you focus on the prospects most likely to convert. Each lead in your Myphoner account receives a score from 0-100, helping you quickly identify which leads deserve your immediate attention.
How Scores Work
Every new lead starts with a baseline score of 30. From there, their score increases with positive engagement and decreases with negative signals. Think of it as a temperature gauge:
š§ 0-30: Cold Leads These leads show minimal engagement or have negative indicators. They may need nurturing or could be deprioritized.
š± 31-60: Warm Leads These leads are showing interest through email engagement. Worth following up with!
š„ 61-80: Hot Leads Strong engagement signals. These leads should be prioritized in your outreach.
⨠81-100: Sales-Ready Leads These leads show exceptional engagement and are most likely to convert. Contact them ASAP!
What Affects a Lead's Score
Positive Factors
š§ Email Opens : Each time a lead opens your email, they gain 3 points (up to 15 points) - Please note: Email open tracking only works with verified sender addresses.
š±ļø Email Clicks : Each time a lead clicks a link in your email, they gain 10 points (up to 40 points) - Please note: Link click tracking only works with verified sender addresses.
Negative Factors
š Excessive Call Attempts : The first 2 call attempts have no penalty, but each additional attempt reduces the score by 5 points (up to -30 points)
ā Unsubscribes : When a lead unsubscribes from emails, their score drops by 40 points
ā ļø Spam Complaints : If a lead marks your email as spam, their score drops by 50 points
Manual Lead Scoring (Premium Plan Only)
Manual lead scoring lets sales agents add a human assessment to the algorithm-generated score. This factor is only available on the Premium subscription plan and will not appear for Basic or Plus plans.
Agents with full permissions can rate each lead using a 5-level scale , which adjusts the lead score:
Rating | Points | Meaning |
Hot | +25 | High quality, ready to pursue aggressively |
Warm | +10 | Positive signals, nurture with care |
Neutral | 0 | Standard quality, no manual adjustment |
Cool | ā15 | Cooling interest, deprioritize |
Cold | ā30 | No longer a prospect, stop calling |
When a manual rating is applied, the system adjusts the leadās overall score and instantly reorders the queue if youāre using āNext Best Lead.ā Manual ratings are also logged in the activity feed with who changed the rating and when.
You can also filter by the manual rating: segments, pipeline automations and the advanced queue filters all have a Filter by rating option, with an Unrated choice for leads nobody has rated yet.
Accounts without the Manual Lead Scoring feature will not display these rating controls.
How Lead Scoring is Applied
The score is automatically used to prioritize leads that are due or overdue in your queue, so you'll always get the next best lead to contact.
Both the score and the manual rating are included as columns (score and manual_rating) whenever you export a list to CSV or Excel, so you can sort, pivot or share them outside Myphoner.
The scoring algorithm is continuously refined to help you achieve better results. We welcome your feedback as you use this feature!
