No — phone numbers rented through Myphoner are voice-only and cannot receive SMS messages. This includes one-time verification texts: if a service needs to text you a code, a Myphoner number won't receive it.
If you need to receive texts on the number your customers know, there are two supported set-ups:
Option 1: Third-party mobile number with call forwarding
Best for higher call volumes.
Purchase a mobile number from a separate provider and enable incoming SMS on it.
Set up call forwarding from that number to your Myphoner number.
Texts arrive with the third-party provider; inbound calls land in Myphoner as usual.
Note that configuring SMS on the third-party provider's side is outside Myphoner support's scope — their support team can help with that part.
Option 2: Physical SIM as a virtual number
Best for lower volumes.
Buy a SIM card and add its mobile number as a virtual number in Myphoner.
Texts and callbacks arrive on the physical handset, while you use the number for outbound calling through Myphoner.
For more inbound call capacity, add a permanent call forward from the SIM to a Myphoner number (check that your mobile provider doesn't charge extra for forwarding).
