Set your caller name (CNAM) for US numbers

Make your business name show up when you call — register your caller display name yourself in a few minutes.

Written by Jeppe Liisberg

CNAM (caller name presentation) is what makes a name — rather than just a number — appear on the recipient's phone when you call in the US. For numbers rented through Myphoner, you register your caller name yourself with the industry registries; it's free and takes a few minutes. Myphoner cannot do this on your behalf, because the registries verify the business behind the number.

Where to register

Register your number(s) and business display name at both:

These are the same portals we recommend for spam-label prevention, so registering also helps your numbers' reputation.

What to expect

  • Your display name must be 15 characters or fewer (e.g. "ACME SALES").

  • Propagation takes anywhere from 48 hours to several weeks, as carriers update their databases on their own schedules.

  • CNAM displays most reliably on landlines. On mobile phones it depends on the recipient's carrier and apps, so not every recipient will see the name.
