Using click-to-dial with RingCentral

RingCentral users can use the RingCentral softphone desktop app to automatically dial a number by clicking on the phone number.

Prerequisites for using click-to-dial with RingCentral Softphone

  • RingCentral or RingCentral Phone desktop client for Windows or macOS (download).

  • Click-to-dial: Myphoner Voip Handle must be set to "Default softphone" or "Other/tel protocol" from your user preferences.

Enabling click-to-dial in Windows

  1. Type "default apps" in the Windows search bar.

  2. Click Default apps in the search results.

  3. Scroll down and click Choose default apps by protocol.

  4. Find CALLTO, click Choose a default, then select RingCentral. If you already have an app assigned, click it and select RingCentral.

  5. Find TEL, click Choose a default, then select RingCentral. If you already have an app assigned, click it and select RingCentral.

Using click-to-dial on Windows

  1. Open Myphoner and go to a lead.

  2. Click on the lead phone number.

  3. When prompted, click the option to choose an app to open the link.

    • Chrome: Click Open Pick an app. Click the checkbox if you want Chrome to automatically open RingCentral when you click on phone numbers.

    • Firefox: Select Pick an app and click Open link. Click the checkbox if you want Firefox to automatically open RingCentral when you click on phone numbers.

  4. If prompted, select RingCentral and select Always use this app.

  5. Click OK.

  6. RingCentral will dial the selected number.

Enabling click-to-dial on MacOS

  1. Open FaceTime.

  2. From the main menu, click FaceTime then Preferences.

  3. Click the Settings tab.

  4. In the Default for calls field at the bottom of the window, select RingCentral.
    โ€‹Note: If RingCentral is not visible in the list of options, sign out and sign back in to your macOS.
